Donna Schuele received her J.D. and Ph.D. in Jurisprudence and Social Policy from UC Berkeley. She teaches history, law, and political science in the California State University system, is the president of the Historical Society of Southern California, and serves as the book review co-editor of Women and Social Movements in the United States. She has published in law and history journals, and the UC Press anthology, On the Borders of Love and Power: Families and Kinship in the Intercultural American Southwest. She is currently at work on a biographical project focusing on retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor.
